D.r.a.g.o.n.flies
Journal started on 11-21-2021
I see dragonflies as evidence of an intelligent designer. Dragonflies have an amazing ability to fly. The acronym d.r.a.g.o.n.fly can help you remember its features:
D- dime turning
R- reverse flying
A- alignment with background
G- g-force shock protection
O- old layers
N- new ideas
Here's some discussion about it. Whether or not you agree with the conclusion they draw, I'll think you'll find the facts about dragonflies fascinating.

Apologetics on the Go
Are there some great resources that Christians can take on the road with them?
Yes, there are.
If you don't have time to read, you can save articles on line to Pocket, and podcasts you can save to Pocket Cast.
You might enjoy articles from Reasonablefaith.org or STR.org or SearchCreation.org
Also, you can listen to the Bible while driving. There are various versions online, plus, Inspired by the Bible Experience is very well done. There are big names you may recognize narrating the Bible (Richard Dreyfus, Denzel Washington), and, after comparing this audio version with others, you start to realize how skillful these actors are in portraying the text.

The need for mnemonics (to make information memorable).

"Wow, that's a mammoth size book on apologetics. There's so much in there, I'm afraid I'll forget what I read," the mouse replied.

Rats- the animal with calculators in its whiskers

Entry started on November 14, 2021
It seems to me that nature often points to an intelligent designer. Even something that seems so simple as a whisker can be more technologically advanced than things we have built. I use the W.H.I.S.K.E.R.S. acronym to create an outline in my mind:
Explanation of acronym: Whiskers help a rat knows its surroundings (1), how much pressure is being applied to it (2), the angles things are, that are approaching it (3). It also spins around constantly, to make it more sensitive to the surroundings, but the spin is accommodated for in its calculations! (4) The whiskers also informs the rat of the texture (5) of the object nearby. And the rat is not the only creature with this feature. There is quite a diversity of animals with whiskers: rabbits, rats, dogs, cats, sea lions and lobsters. (7). Yep, lobsters also have this feature, despite being invertebrates.
Surely there are many applications this technology has to improve our own technology.
Don't let my memorable, cute summary stop you from reading further. Check it out here
https://evolutionnews.org/2021/09/rats-another-code-found-in-whiskers/
Clever quote from previous article, with underline added for emphasis!:
"Did you know that a rat’s tactile sense requires analyzing a 16-dimensional stimulus space? How does that computation fit into a rat’s brain? Trying to simplify in a model what goes on in rat whiskers quickly gets deep into mathematical weeds. Their “generalized linear models” that analyzed pairs of covarying features showed some success. Nevertheless, they admit they have only (so to speak) scratched the surface."
It seems like we're often just scratching the surface!

The Humble Bumble Bee v SuperComputer
The humble bumble bee can solve the traveling salesman problem by finding the shortest distance among hundreds of points. Not impressed? This can take several days for a supercomputer to figure out, yet the bumble bee can map out at all the points it has traveled, and find the most efficient route.
Get more of the details here.

3 Part Outline of God's Crime Scene
Journal started on 11/14/2021
God's Crime Scene has 3 main fields it looks at in its argument for God's existence:
1) Cosmology
2) Biology
3) Anthropology (moral and mental factors)
The photo below can be used to represent Cosmology and Anthropology. An animal symbol could be added to the astronaut's shoulder to represent Biology.
UPDATE: To represent Cosmology, Biology and Anthropology, the moon could be replaced with a cell.

ID MNEMONIC: HAMMERING OUT A HAMMERHEAD
Journal entry started on November 14, 2021
I read an article that amazingly the surface area of a hammer head is consistent throughout the shark, to enhance its travel through the water. If the cephalofoil is larger, the fins are smaller, and if it is smaller, the fins are larger. This keeps the overall surface area consistent. That, too, sounds like planning was involved. Whether or not one finds it as absolute proof of their being a designer, it sure strikes me as evidence.
I was thinking about how to make this information memorable. In my mind, I pictured a shark with a large cephalofoil, and because of its size, to keep the surface area consistent, I imagined someone hammering the fins to make it smaller. I call it hammering the hammer head!
Anyhow, that's just a clever way of remembering this phenomenon, regardless of whether you think it was designed or not! But it sure looks like planning to me.

WHY THESE TABS FOR TRUTH2REMEMBER.COM

Journal entry start date November 13, 2021
TABS AT THE TOP OF MY WEBSITE
I looked at various web pages to see what I should put as tabs at the top of my web page. However, I soon realized that this website is going to be a bit different than other websites I've seen, because the focus is on making material memorable, especially Christian apologetic material.
I knew I wanted to have Apologetics as part of my website, so I started with that. I also wanted to share with people how to read the Bible with a memorable technique, so I made the second word at the top, Bible. I've also been work on ways to remember thoughts from Proverbs, so I made Christian life the third word. I kept going through the alphabet, thinking through what I wanted my web page to be.
So, we have Apologetics, Bible and Christian life. I want also to help Christians engage the culture better as they discuss their Christian convictions, so Diplomacy became the next word. I recall Greg Koukl saying something to the effect that our engagement with others should look more like Diplomacy than D- Day. This is a huge area that I think Christians have a lot to learn- but it is learnable. A lot of Greg's techniques aren't that hard, and I'd like to share them here. At least, Greg approved of my mnemonics for remembering his strategies.
E stands for Elephant tricks. I think there's a real need to help Christians make their information memorable- to give it staying power. This is something that I want to explore more. But with technology, I think there is so much more that can be done.
F stands for Favorites- namely, my Favorites. There are certain items put to memory that I really want to highlight, showcase, put a spotlight on.
G stands for Goals. I want people to know this isn't just about me creating memorable apologetics. I want to start a movement. I think there's so much potential. My skills are limited. I don't feel up to the job- but if I can get this going, I see no limits to what can be done.
H stands for Here's what's new. Typically, when someone writes an article, that's it. They don't keep updating the article. But making information memorable is quite the opposite. I find there are a lot of ways to improve how memorable a set of facts can be. So, Here's what's new seems like a logical category.
I stands for Index. I want all my work to be indexed in one place to make it easier to search through.
J stands for Journal. Again, I want to share the process to get others involved in the process. Plus I won't have time to develop all the ideas I come up with, but even undeveloped memory material can be helpful.
Pardon typos... I'm always on a time budget... aren't you?
I may come back and correct typos from time to time, even though it is date stamped.

WHY A JOURNAL FOR TRUTH2REMEMBER.COM

Journal entry started on November 13, 2021
I was debating whether or not to start a journal for you to read on this website. It became clear to me that this was a smart decision. One key reason is that I want to influence others to make Christian apologetics more memorable, and so to do that, I'd like to invite them in on the process. This journal seems like a good way to do that.
Another reason for starting a journal is that it allows me to share mnemonics that are not fully developed. It is clear to me that mnemonics (memory strategies) don't have to be fully developed in order to be valuable.
